The session addressed:

  • Successful strategies for defending serial pharmaceutical products litigation involving pharmaceutical products used by aging populations in skilled nursing settings
  • Benefits, risks, and long term use of bone therapeutic agents in aging populations suffering from various bone metabolic disorders

  • Mortality associated with hip fractures and strategies to minimize such risk
  • Medications commonly used to treat osteoarthritis and associated risks
  • When to treat osteoporosis and overview of treatment options
  • Identifying patients at increased risk of falling and fracturing in the skilled nursing setting
