As a former Division I volleyball player for Rutgers University, Marilyn Vasquez was drawn to the competitive nature of law and serves on the firm’s discovery team where she is responsible for drafting responses to written requests for discovery.

Previously, Marilyn was a member of the firm’s answer team, where she handled legal research and writing in the drafting and review of pleadings, and other tasks relating to the defense of mass tort claims in complex litigation. She later took a leadership role on the answer team and assisted the partners in the management of the team and coordination of drafting and review assignments for the team’s twenty-plus contract and staff attorneys. Her responsibilities included coordinating with local counsel and creating a schedule for the submission of answers for filing to ensure adherence to deadlines. She was also a former member of the document management team, where her responsibilities included the identification, review, and production of electronic documents for the firm’s major products liability, toxic tort, pharmaceutical, and other complex litigation matters. Self-described as an inquisitive and highly-motivated “techie,” Marilyn enjoys diving deep and digging into the logic of cases to piece together answers and solutions.

Prior to joining the firm, Marilyn worked with large, nationally recognized DC law firms in large-scale investigations of alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), including a multinational FCPA Spanish language investigation where her native Spanish speaking skills came into play.

Marilyn received her J.D. from the Washington College of Law, her M.S. in Justice, Law and Society from American University, and her B.A. as a double major in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Rutgers University.
