Known for her fierce dedication and meticulous attention to detail, Awa Sowe knew as a young girl she was destined to be a lawyer and that these skills would serve her well.
Awa practices in the Complex Litigation, Pharmaceutical & Medical Device, and Products Liability & Toxic Torts groups, and is a member of the firm’s discovery team where her responsibilities include, but are not limited to, research, drafting, and advising on responses to plaintiff-side discovery requests.
Prior to joining Hollingsworth LLP, Awa worked for the National Veterans Legal Services Program.
While earning her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, Awa worked as a Research Assistant. She also served as a Legal Intern at Legal Aid of North Carolina, where she assisted in drafting an appellate brief regarding the constitutionality of a provision in the state domestic violence law disparately impacting same-sex partners. Awa graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in political science where her active involvement in pre-law societies and related classes laid the foundation for her career.
