- Jim Sullivan leads corporate discovery in complex litigation nationwide, developing and executing discovery strategy while managing corporate depositions, document productions, witnesses, and the broader corporate record.
- Unlike traditional discovery counsel focused primarily on document review and production, Jim approaches discovery as a trial lawyer, identifying the evidence, themes, and vulnerabilities needed to strengthen and protect the case from pretrial motions through appeal.
- Jim’s role does not end when discovery closes. He works behind the scenes with trial teams to navigate the corporate record, prepare witnesses, locate critical evidence, and ensure the work developed through discovery continues to advance the client’s position at trial.
- Jim’s capacity to lead teams in response to evolving client needs has ranged from solving targeted discovery needs, to serving as MDL ESI Liaison Counsel, to managing discovery for some of the country’s most complex and sprawling litigation in the face of thousands of demands served in federal and state courts nationwide from dozens of unrelated plaintiffs’ firms.
- Balancing consistency with flexibility, Jim builds discovery strategies designed to withstand the demands of evolving litigation while simultaneously responding to new requests in real time.
