Elyse Shimada Presents to National Foundation for Judicial Excellence on Rule 702 Amendments

Elyse Shimada took part in a presentation at the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence (NFJE) in Washington, DC on the forthcoming amendments to Federal Rule of Evidence 702. The presentation was organized by the Defense Research Institute (Hollingsworth LLP is a founding member of the Advisory Board of DRI’s Center for Law and Public Policy) and was made before an audience of approximately 150 state court appellate and supreme court judges, including two judges who were on the Federal Rules Advisory Committee that drafted the amended Rule.
Hollingsworth LLP first raised the need for amendments to Rule 702 in a 2015 Law Review article and has been a strong advocate for the forthcoming Rule 702 amendments since that time. As it has since its founding more than 40 years ago, Hollingsworth LLP continues to advocate for a sound science approach to the admissibility of expert testimony in the courtroom.
