Gary Feldon to Speak at ACI’s 3rd Annual Summit on PFAS Regulation, Compliance and Litigation

event | May 28, 2026 - May 29, 2026

Hollingsworth LLP partner Gary Feldon will participate in the Friday, May 29th panel discussion “Evaluating PFAS in Biosolids as a Growing Source of Regulatory Pressure and Corporate Liability” at ACI’s 3rd Annual Summit on PFAS Regulation, Compliance and Litigation. The panel will address why biosolids are emerging as a flashpoint for PFAS regulators, NGOs, and plaintiffs, how states are addressing PFAS in biosolids, and why biosolids litigation may expand the range of defendants targeted by PFAS claims.

Mounting public attention to biosolids and sewage sludge as potential routes for PFAS to contaminate soil and groundwater is fueling expanded state regulation and increasing litigation risk. Biosolids are semisolid byproducts of treating industrial and municipal wastewater that, when processed in accordance with EPA regulations, are commonly processed into sustainable, low-cost fertilizer.

Rapid changes to the legal landscape promise to impact wastewater management for businesses that use PFAS as well as companies that handle or dispose of that wastewater. Impacted companies need to understand the implications of these developments to ensure regulatory compliance, plan for any necessary operational changes, and respond to potential litigation.
