event | September 28, 2025
George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School’s Law & Economics Center held its 19th Annual Judicial Symposium on Civil Justice Issues. This year’s symposium tackled a broad range of timely issues such as third-party litigation financing, the evolving role of judges in expert testimony admission, recent developments in consumer protection, the latest “super torts,” and assessing multidistrict litigation, class actions, and mass arbitrations. Legal and economic experts representing a variety of perspectives dissected and debated these topics while participating judges had the opportunity to ask probing questions and seek insight into some of today’s most contentious legal issues.
Firm partner Kathryn S. Jensen spoke during Session IV, “The Role of the Rigors of Causation, Traceability, and Attribution in Establishing Liability.”
Firm associate Katherine E. Nolan spoke on the Session II panel, “The Judicial Gatekeeping Role in Admissibility of Expert Testimony: Continuing Developments.”
Hollingsworth LLP attorneys have been speaking at the Judicial Symposium throughout the history of the event with firm founder Joe Hollingsworth being a frequent speaker as well as the first to represent the firm at this unique event more than fifteen years ago.
