Jim Sullivan Speaks at Georgetown Law’s Advanced eDiscovery Institute

event | November 20, 2025 - November 21, 2025

Hollingsworth LLP partner Jim Sullivan spoke at Georgetown Law’s 2025 Advanced eDiscovery Institute (AEDI). For over twenty years, the Advanced eDiscovery Institute has been the leading conference on the intersection of law, policy, and technology. This year’s program tackled complex issues surrounding eDiscovery, big data, and privacy from a diverse group of speakers, including state and federal judges, law firm practitioners from around the world, eDiscovery providers, and AI subject-matter experts. With panel discussions on the current legal landscape, AI, eDiscovery workflows and processes, and ethics, the AEDI addressed the most important issues in eDiscovery today.

Jim spoke on the panel “MDL Discovery Deep Dive,” where panelists discussed the unique discovery considerations in the MDL context, including the impact of proposed rule changes on discovery process and whether one size fits all when addressing the scope of discovery and related protocols.

Jim, a partner at Hollingsworth LLP, co-leads the Discovery Counsel Services and eDiscovery practice.  He has broad pretrial, trial, and appellate experience as a member of the firm’s Products Liability & Toxic Torts practice. For over 17 years he has worked in federal MDL and parallel state court litigation, which has principally focused on the representation of manufacturers, distributors, and retailers in products liability litigations involving products regulated by the FDA and others regulated by the EPA. In some of these matters, Hollingsworth LLP serves as lead national counsel for the principal defendants and in other matters serves in a national discovery counsel role. Jim has held MDL leadership positions for the defense, including national discovery counsel and ESI Liaison counsel roles.
