Firm founder Joe G. Hollingsworth is serving as a member of the Steering Committee for DePauw University’s Rector Scholarship Centennial.  2019 marks the centennial year of Edward and Lucy Rowland Rector’s historic scholarship gift in 1919, one of the most influential acts of philanthropy in the history of DePauw University.  Since the scholarship’s first awards in 1919, it has produced more than 4,000 DePauw graduates, many of whom are recognized among the University’s most distinguished alumni, including astronaut Joe Allen ’59, former U.S. Rep. Lee Hamilton ’52, pharmaceutical executive Phyllis Ferrell ’94, entrepreneur Angie Hicks ’95, and Nobel Prize-winning scientist Ferid Murad ’58.

Mr. Hollingsworth earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the respected liberal arts university in 1971 and was a recipient of DePauw’s prestigious merit scholarship. The Rector Scholarship Centennial Steering Committee, comprised of former Rector scholars, is rallying financial support to build the Rector Scholarship Endowment Fund and planning a series of events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the scholarship on DePauw’s campus in Greencastle, Ind., May 10-12, 2019.  DePauw recently announced $2.6 million in lead gifts for the $14 million Rector Scholarship Centennial Initiative.  Make a gift and learn more about the Rector Scholarship.
