Pro Bono Win: Hollingsworth LLP successfully represents low-income D.C. tenant in remedying housing conditions.
news | May 20, 2015
On referral from the D.C. Legal Aid Society, Firm partner Gary I. Rubin investigated potential housing code violations raised by a low-income tenant in D.C., including his allegations of large cracks and holes in his apartment’s walls that were letting rodents into the apartment, needed bathroom repairs, and inadequate heating. This legal representation included a home visit, client interviews, communications with the pro se landlord, and preparation for and representation at four court hearings. In response, the landlord made some repairs, and subsequently complied with a court order to complete the remaining repairs.
