Born and bred with an endless passion for pro bono and volunteer work, Erin Nebbia recognized that becoming a lawyer would allow her to make a bigger impact on the lives and livelihood of those who need advocacy. Fast forward, today she practices in the firm’s Complex Litigation, Pharmaceutical & Medical Device, and Products Liability & Toxic Torts groups, and was a member of the firm’s 2021 Summer Associate Class.
As a member of the firm’s Insurance Coverage practice, Erin represents clients with respect to coverage issues arising out of personal injury, tort, and product liability claims. She has advised insureds seeking coverage for property damage in connection with railroads and construction sites and has experience interpreting and applying various types of policies, including coverages for Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA) and other labor laws.
Erin earned her J.D. from Georgetown Law, where she was a member of the Trial Advocacy Division of the Georgetown Law Barrister’s Council, and the recipient of the Dean’s Certificate, awarded to a graduating student in recognition of special and outstanding service to the Georgetown Law community.
During law school, Erin served as a Legal Extern at the Office of the District of Columbia Attorney General, where she drafted and edited legal memoranda in child neglect proceedings, and participated in witness prep. She also served as a Law Clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of New York, where she briefed oppositions to compassionate release motions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, conducted research on federal civil, criminal, and appellate cases, and appeared on behalf of the U.S. in court proceedings pursuant to the New York State student practice order.
Erin graduated, cum laude, with a B.A. in Journalism & Criminology, from the University of Maryland, and was in the Criminal Justice Departmental Honors Thesis Program where she wrote on the “Impact of Prison Architecture on Recidivism Post-Incarceration.”
Erin unwinds from the rigors of law by taking her Golden Doodle, Finn, for city walks, or exploring the Washington, DC food scene as a self-described foodie from Buffalo, NY. You might also find her hitting the slopes on skis or a snowboard when the snow flies.
