Sebastian Ovalle practices complex litigation defense in products liability and toxic tort matters. In 2022, he was a member of the trial team defending Sotera Health in Cook County, Illinois, where after a twenty-eight-day trial, the firm secured a complete defense verdict. Currently, he is representing a pharmaceutical company and assisting with all aspects of corporate and expert discovery. Sebastian has also represented a petrochemical manufacturer in contract-related claims brought by an international construction contractor involving a megaproject at the plant.

Prior to joining the firm, Sebastian served as a prosecutor in New York City, where he prosecuted attempted murders, robberies, and grand larceny. He visited crime scenes and hospitals where he interviewed victims, witnesses, and police officers. He also conducted custodial interrogations of criminal suspects. To enhance his prosecutions, Sebastian used DNA and augmented imaging to prosecute violent defendants. He maintained a 100% indictment rate throughout his tenure as a prosecutor.

Sebastian graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and attended the University of Iowa College of Law, where he received his degree. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute.
