Grant Hollingsworth and Joe Altieri to Present CLE on Defending Against Claims Alleging Allergic Hypersensitivity
event | October 14, 2026
During a MyLawCLE program on October 14, 2026, Hollingsworth LLP partners Grant Hollingsworth and Joe Altieri will discuss multiple aspects of the defense of an allergic hypersensitivity claim from initial assessment to trial.
Drawing on real-world case studies, the program will offer practice pointers for each phase of litigation, including analyzing allegations in the complaint, Rule 12 motions, written discovery strategies, determining case themes based on review of internal documents and scientific literature, preparing for fact and expert depositions, dispositive briefing (Rule 702/Daubert and summary judgment), trial preparation, and more.
The program also will cover the core science that drives these cases and examine where hypersensitivity claims tend to break down on general and specific causation and what laboratory and clinical evidence may be relevant. The discussion will address cross-cutting developments in the law, including recent Rule 702 decisions and recent Supreme Court preemption rulings, that are important considerations in litigating these and similar claims.
