David Schifrin is first and foremost a litigator. Adept at synthesizing complex facts and legal argument in support of his clients, David is a loyal and tireless advocate with a proven track record of success.
David brings these skills to bear in his practice of complex litigation across the country, handling pharmaceutical, products liability, and toxic tort matters. In working up cases, David is known for his dogged pursuit of the facts. He leaves no stone unturned or advantage unpressed, often going the extra mile for his clients. As a seasoned advocate, David has a keen ability to marry big picture litigation themes with the particulars of a given case to best position his clients for success.
David’s practice also includes extensive work preparing and defending expert witnesses at deposition and trial. He has a knack for helping experts develop into effective testifiers capable of providing readily digestible and jury-friendly testimony on complex scientific topics. In addition to his expert work, David has considerable experience preparing corporate witnesses in both their personal and representative capacities. He also has extensive experience managing corporate discovery issues, including the review and analysis of corporate documents to prepare strategic defenses to likely liability themes.
Prior to joining the firm, David worked as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Anthony C. Epstein at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. In that capacity, he drafted orders resolving dispositive, discovery-related, and post-trial motions, and conducted appellate review of magistrate decisions. Following law school, David served as Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, Civil Litigation Division, where he cut his teeth defending the District in civil lawsuits in both state and federal court. His litigation responsibilities included extensive motions practice, oral argument, taking and defending depositions of both expert and lay witnesses, discovery, settlement negotiations, and direct and cross-examination of witnesses at trial.
David received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown Law, where he was Staff Editor of the Journal of National Security Law & Policy. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with College Honors and a B.A. in economics.
